Buenos Aires, December 9 (NA) – The mayor of Tres de Febrero and Buenos Aires provincial senator for La Libertad Avanza, Diego Valenzuela, who is on leave, is preparing to take on a key role in the Executive Branch as head of the newly created National Migration Agency. According to Argentine News Agency, the former PRO member was approached by the government for an important position in the Ministry of Security, led by Alejandra Monteoliva with the full backing of current Senator Patricia Bullrich. While official confirmation is still pending, sources within the libertarian administration admitted to having held conversations with the legislator, who was elected on September 7. Following the offer, the senator from Buenos Aires province requested a leave of absence from his new position. Prior to moving to the Legislative Branch, Patricia Bullrich announced the creation of the new National Migration Agency, to be led by Sebastián Seoane. This is a position currently under review as part of the Cabinet restructuring. Valenzuela maintains a close relationship with President Javier Milei, whom he has known since their university days, and was one of the first mayors to leave PRO and join La Libertad Avanza. From the mayoral office, they confirmed to this medium that the contacts took place, but clarified that Valenzuela will do what is "needed by the Government."
